Without this 'soul', it is not possible for the person to either walk, talk, make any movements or to show any skill /art and wonders. In fact, without the soul in couple of days, the body will start decomposing and due to the detriotion a bad smell will start coming out. If the body is not buried quickly, then the other people will also be impacted due to its decomposition and could fall sick due to the infection.
Without the combination and coexistence of body and soul
together, human being cannot be called as human being, otherwise it will
be called as dead body. With similar analogy, faith (belief) and worship
/ devotion also has an external visible shape (appearance) and it also
has its reality (fact), which is soul.
Because the real / factual Salat / Namaz is called as 'Meraj-ul-momineen', i.e. Namaz / Salat is the Meraj of momineen. 'Salat-e-Meraj-al-momineen' means the presence of Qalb in the court of Allah (SWT) with full honor to the extent that the worshiper is gifted with conversation with Him. Without the presence of the heart in the court of Allah (SWT) salat / namaz is not possible, i.e. it is not possible to receive the fruits and auspicious blessings of salat / namaz without the presence of Qalb in His court. Infact such salat / namaz is directly returned to the person with contempt.
In summary, the 'body' of namaz / salat / worship / prayer is the set of defined visible actions / rituals where as the 'soul' is the presence by heart in the court of Allah (SWT).
The true affirmation (authentication) of faith comes after the suitably managing of hearts, cleaning of Qalb, purification of headstrong, wayward and domineering nafs (inner self). On completion of this process, Iman (faith / belief) comes truly inside the Qalb and then the person becomes momin. Only by lingual (verbal) admission / declaration no one could become momin.
The Holy Quran has pronounced that,
(Surat Number 49, Surat Al-Hujurat, Ayah Number 14)
"We believe" Say, "Ye Have no faith; but ye (only) say, 'We have submitted our wills to Allah; For not yet has faith Entered your hearts'
English translation,
The desert Arabs were somewhat shaky in their faith.
Their hearts and minds were petty, and they thought of petty things, while
Islam requires the complete submission of one's being to Allah.
"This is what ye ought to prove if your faith has
any meaning, but ye only say it with your tongues"
Addressing to those who are without affirmation of faith / belief by their hearts and have only lingual (verbal) admission and declaration, The Holy Quran says,
"You are not 'momin' because the faith / belief has not yet entered in your hearts".
The wayward and domineering nafs is standing in the way
of verbal admission's of the Kalima's entrance to the heart, i.e. nafs
is preventing the true affirmation of Iman by the heart. Nafs has engaged
human being in worshipping and devotion to itself, and has absorbed human
beings in fulfilling its numerous desires and temptations. Nafs has made
itself the God. How can it allow the worship and obedience of the other
God?
Sometimes you must have experienced deep inside you,
a wish / thought of doing some good deed originating, however later on,
you may be feeling another power which suppresses this good thought, and
then this power makes you do the work as per its wish.
The function / job of the 'soul' is to create / originate the good thought (energy). The one which kills or suppresses this good thought and makes you obey its wish and fulfill its desires is nothing but the wayward and domineering nafs.
The waywardness of nafs has been mentioned in The holy Quran,
(Surat Number 12, Surat Yusuf, Ayah Number 53)
"the (human) soul certainly incites evil"
This wayward and domineering nafs gives too many commands of bad deeds.
Elders have said, the nafs which is determined on its waywardliness and dominance, and whose purification has not been done, possess the power of more than 70 Satan. Shaikh Sharfudin Ahamed Yhayha Munairi (RH) wrote that,
'The wayward and domineering nafs is such an devious (uncivilized) and rebellion that once it decides to do some wrong deed and intend to invite trouble and punishment as a result of its wrong deed, then no matter, with how many holy books or prophets you try to scare it, still it will commit the wrong deed'.
"Certainly, nafs direct to commit evils too much".
Rebelliance and refusal is in the nature of nafs, i.e. these characters are intrinsic to the nafs. There are several weakness and diseases inside the nafs such as, just pride, selfishness, fraud, anger, enmity, hypocrisy, infidelity, etc. Unless these bad / fatal and destructive elements are not eliminated, purification of nafs is not possible. Unless through the analyses and purification of nafs, the love of Allah (SWT) is not born (originate) in it, and obedience of Allah (SWT) and His worship and slavery is not accepted by the nafs, the entrance of Noor-e-Imani (noor of faith / belief) inside the Qalb (heart) is impossible. And until the purification of Qalb combined with affirmation by heart (Qalb) is not achieved, the person cannot become a momin.
Before the purification of nafs, religious faith /belief, faithfulness and all other forms of worships / prayers are merely performed / fulfilled as customs, formalities and habits. These prayers / worship is like the body without its soul.
This is the reason why even though most of us stand in front of Allah (SWT) with hands neatly folded in salat posture, verbally saying the tasbee, reading the Quranic ayats, but since nafs is domineering the Qalb, it takes the Qalb away from the true involvement in the salat and takes to the market place, to the wife, to the office, to the businesses, etc. In this way, the nafs distracts our Qalb and keeps us engaged in its desires.
This is the main reason why our prayers have become so
ineffective. This rebellion and domineering nafs never prostrates before
Allah (SWT). Nafs is the biggest hurdle standing in the way of worship
and slavery of Allah (SWT). It is also the tough opponent to obey the orders
of Allah (SWT).
Our ancestor's teachings covers and includes several
proven approaches to help eliminate the Rebelliance and dominance of nafs,
these includes,
The most proven and effective way of several centuries
is to be in the company of the friends of Allah (SWT). Being in his company,
free oneself from the slavery and dominance of the rebellion nafs and accept
the worship and obedience of Allah (SWT) by keeping the solemn promise
to discard the worshipping of nafs and himself on hands of any friends
of Allah (SWT), Awalia Kamil and follow his teachings.
Whatever the goodness and good behavior of inner Islamic teachings have reached us through our ancestors, our utmost try will be to see that these teachings reach to the people at large and they may be benefited to the possible extent and we on our part be diligently obliged to have eternal peace of Hereafter by performing this service to the human beings.
Our call and invitation is intended for all the people in this world.
